Elsiem Jewellery

category: Jewellery & Silverware

region: South East

My name is Lorraine Hitt and I am the designer and maker behind Elsiem Jewellery.

My forma design career disciplines including Graphic, 2D/3D Cad, Furniture and Architectural Interior are not only prevalent in my jewellery designs but have provided me with invaluable skills for developing my jewellery brand, all inspired by my love of simple visual forms, incorporating functionality and practicality.

My work is contemporary and often edgy.  I currently handcraft my designs using mainly brass and sterling silver, sometimes combining the two, drawing on my metalsmith training from both an experienced goldsmith and self-teaching and experimenting. I’m also in the process of learning CAD jewellery design and 3D printing, so I’m excited to see what those skills evolve into within my future collections.

I sell my work online, at fairs and currently have my brass and silver ‘Emulate’ collection at Kettles Yard, Cambridge.

category: Ceramics   Jewellery & Silverware

region: Wales

I am inspired by the form of the classic ceramics from the 20th and 21st century. The modernist and cubist movements have been my points of reference, using their concept of a well designed form with facets and angles as inspiration. It is the marriage of form and function that intrigues me and the distortion […]

I create bold textile jewellery by fusing traditional techniques with sculptural forms and contemporary colours. Enssembly

category: Jewellery & Silverware

region: North West

I am a self-taught Jewellery maker. Enssembly is inspired by my mother who had a strong love for one-of-a-kind pieces and would always purchase from independent designers, creating a collection of the most extraordinary jewellery pieces. I have memories of when we would recycle precious beads to create beautiful necklaces. I combined this vision with my brother’s love for words and sayings, using his sayings to create a design based on how I visualised the meanings. ‘My Words are the Light between Silver and Grey’ is the first quote my brother recited to me and the first I had heard after my mother’s passing. Enssembly’s feature colours are based around this key piece.
All designs are drawn by hand and made ready for cutting using up-cycled wood. I assemble the parts, hand sand each pendant, then set the crystals individually.

Fiona Chapman

category: Jewellery & Silverware

region: Scotland

My range of colourful, light-weight jewellery is made using my own technique for fusing polypropylene plastic. Exploration and experimentation are key to my development as a maker: naturally inquisitive and fascinated by materials and their properties, I am always wondering “what else can I do with this?”. I use recycled materials whenever possible, creating almost no waste, every scrap of plastic can work its way into a new piece. I like to work intuitively, with pieces evolving at the bench. I am inspired by geology and microscopic life, with light, transparency and reflection becoming increasingly important since moving to the west coast of Scotland.
