region: South East

I am a designer maker from East Sussex. I hand embroider my own designs and make these into cushions and I print fabric from my unique embroideries, which I use to hand make smaller accessories including pendants, key rings, lavender cushions and brooches. I started off my career 15 years ago with a Degree in Fine Art and went on creating knitted sculptures that illustrated my ways of working as a woman with the historical act of knitting combined with domestic objects in the home. One of my sculptures is featured in the popular book by Joanne Turney ‘The Culture Of Knitting’ published in 2009. I now sew almost every day and design and hand make unique things for the home that illustrate my personality and love for sewing and drawing.

My work is inspired by the environments that I see around me while out running. Travelling on foot through the landscape allows us a greater appreciation of the colours, contours and textures of the world around us, and gives us the opportunity to see aspects of the environment not often noticed in the rush and […]

I bought my first sheep six years ago, absolutely determined to work with their wool to produce contemporary, artisan products with real provenance. My beautiful textiles products for the home can be traced from design, through production and right back to my flock of sheep that graze the Cotswolds countryside. My limited edition collection includes handwoven blankets, knitted accessories and sheepskin rugs. Across the entire range I aim to bring together woollen accessories for the home that offer aesthetic pleasure and a sense of warmth and cosiness. Most importantly, I want to connect my customers with provenance, with rural skills and with the feeling that they own something truly handcrafted, and evocative of our working countryside and great, British wool.

I find weaving to be an endlessly fascinating craft – watching how the different colours and yarns interact in the warp and weft, or playing with the structure of the cloth to create a new texture or pattern is something I will never tire of.
My aim is to create hand woven textiles that are equally attractive to the hand as to the eye. Textiles are a part of our everyday lives from a christening shawl, a comforting blanket to an elegant shawl, so it is important to enjoy them.

I am a wire artist based in Staffordshire. I produce 2D and 3D wire drawings of everyday objects incorporating thread in my work to add colour. The focus of my work is the line of an object, it’s this that I find the most interesting about everyday objects and is so often missed within the […]

Creating wild, but delicate, hand-built ceramics I use glazed and un-glazed porcelain to construct beaten, distorted forms with soft curves and interrupted contours. I like to engage physically with the raw material, pursuing a careful balance between fragility and bold strength, while the firing process enables the clay to develop a more undulating, independent sense […]
