I am a trained silversmith who works mainly with silver but I have recently incorporated seaglass found on Dorset beaches into many of my pieces.
I love texture and my work involves reticulation and hammering. I’m put off by mass produced jewellery and therefore like to create one off pieces, while keeping my work affordable.

Julieann is a graduate of the Tapestry Department, Edinburgh College of Art and is a Crafts Council Award recipient. She has developed her love of eccentric weaving into three dimensions to create lively and whimsical woven wire animals, birds and figures suitable for indoor and outdoor display.

Julieann strives to capture the essence of her subject through quick sketches translated directly into sculpture. She now lives in Wiltshire and spends hours sketching in the fields around her home and studio from where she also runs workshops and courses.

Examples of Julieann’s tapestry and sculptural forms can be found in public and private collections nationally, including the V&A. In Spring 2012 she was commissioned to design and create 50 new wire sculptures for The Conran Shop inspired by the ethos “Less is More’.

I make a range of colourful enamel jewellery inspired by nature and simple forms. The use of vitreous enamels provides me with the perfect medium to add vibrant colours to my designs and to play with different colour combinations. Inspiration comes from the many different forms, textures and patterns of the natural world, whether it’s a smooth beach pebble or a spiky teasel seed head.

Trained as a traditional jeweller, Katy Luxton creates vibrant silver and nylon jewellery. Using simple but expressive lines, Katy employs hand techniques and new technology […]

region: South West

I design and makes leather purses, bags and accessories. Based in Bristol I work from my studio and shop, BLAZE. My full range includes corsages, hair accessories, small coin purses, large purses, clutch bags and handbags.
Every piece created is cut and assembled by hand ensuring it’s uniqueness. I enjoy experimenting with floral shapes, which are all individually hand cut to create dense areas of interesting texture, maximising the sculptural qualities of the soft nappa leather. The purses are lined with quirky coordinating patterned linings. All fabrics are carefully sourced so combinations keep changing in order to keep items individual. All items are hand-crafted with every detail carefully considered ensuring each item is both functional, beautiful and tactile.
I enjoy creating beautiful containers such as purses and bags for people to carry around their treasured possessions, which are as beautiful on the inside as they are outside.

Koa Jewellery

category: Jewellery and Silverware

region: South West

From his studio near the picturesque Poldhu cove on the Lizard peninsula, Lawrence Gibson creates his truly unique range of Koa jewellery. The coves and the landscape of Cornwall have and continue to provide an endless source of inspiration to Lawrence, allowing him to achieve a dynamic and contemporary collection of pieces that are entirely his own. The designs take a direct influence in nature and the seashore, harbour life and the movement of the sea. Also from summer pastimes and surf culture. Simple forms hold colour and respond to natural light, others frame scenes, an image or a memory. More often than not, as with a painting or a sculpture, the owner responds by seeing what only they themselves see in each piece. This makes the jewellery become even more personal. Every piece of Koa Jewellery is hand made by the artist.
Koa featured in March’s Vogue magazine in ‘The Crown Jewels’ – a focus on new British jewellery designers.

Lauren Hunt Jewellery Designs

I use traditional goldsmithing methods to handcraft delicate fine jewellery, and have been a practising metalsmith for over 6 years. I favour a timelessly organic, feminine, modern romantic aesthetic, and draw inspiration from the metals and gemstones I work with as well as earthy textures and soft colour palettes. Much of my work is hammer textured and features unusual rose cut precious gemstones.
My work is made to order from eco-friendly materials and meticulously sourced gemstones and provides an ethical alternative to mass produced fine jewellery.
