Twisted Designs

category: Jewellery and Silverware

region: North West

I work using semi precious stones and polymer clay to make my jewellery. The pieces I create are simple, stylish and affordable.  My polymer clay pieces are mini pieces of art, they are all one of a kind and very individual.
I studied for a BA HONS in Textile design at Nottingham Trent, specialising in knitwear, and started making jewellery after creating a gift for a friend – who then got asked where she got it from and Twisted Designs jewellery was born!
I find inspiration from all aspects of life. I love colour, texture and form. I find many of the stones I use inspirational, the colours and simply because of the amazing way they are formed by nature. Unique in every way.

Willow House Silver design make and create beautiful, individual pieces of silver jewellery by hand, using traditional silversmithing methods which are affordable without compromising on design or materials. Inspiration is taken from the beauty of the natural world and by the magnificent views from the workshop across Morecambe Bay towards the fells of the English Lake District, to weave into the silver jewellery designs. I incorporate pearls and gemstones for their beauty and unique properties, with 925 British Sterling Silver and 999 Fine Silver.

Wolf in the Shed

category: Glass

region: North West

I work with fused and stained glass. I am fascinated by the way light works with colour. There is importance in the time of day, the weather, or a reflection from water. Pattern and textures become visible and the angle which the light enters the glass takes on new importance.

I also enjoy the way vague blocks of colour can suggest a place or object. I create the sense of a scene through the colours melted into glass.

Recent designs have been based around using stained glass in more sculptural forms. Lead is flexible and relatively soft and it allows me to bend and alter a form as I am making.

Work is available from under £10 up to many hundreds. Working to commission is a real challenge, but I find myself developing ideas in new and unexpected directions.
