Fable-London

category: Jewellery and Silverware

region: London

Fable-London create exquisite, hand-crafted jewellery that brings together modern technology and traditional techniques. Each piece is carved out of a block of Corian using CNC machining, then it is passed to our artists for finishing by hand, with silver detailing and colour added. This process makes every item that we make unique. We love the simplicity of form and crisp clean lines. We hope you do too.

Gemma Wightman Ceramics

category: Ceramics

region: London

Gemma Wightman makes an exciting range of hand thrown porcelain tableware. Exploring the wonders of porcelain, she manipulates forms so that they look as fresh as when they were first created on the potter’s wheel.
Each piece entices you to touch it with their deep thrown lines and sumptuous curves. Gemma takes great pleasure in knowing that her pieces are an enjoyment to those that use them.
Gemma formulates her own glazes in order to produce the subtle variations in tone of both the shiny turquoise and satin cream glazes. Before the final firing the pieces are individually dipped in the glaze.
Gemma trained in the early 2000s, firstly at the Surrey Institute of Art & Design in Farnham and then on the Bath Spa University Ceramics degree course under the esteemed tutorage of Felicity Aylieff and Takeshi Yasuda.

Heron Design Studio

category: Fashion Accessories

region: London

Heron Design Studio specializes in textile design. At the moment my main focus is on hand-painted fashion accessories such as silk scarves, shawls and hand painted silk wall art. As I am passionate about nature, most of my designs reflect this.
I am classically trained fine artist but I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of wearable art. So naturally, painting on silk has come as the best idea. Heron Design Studio aims to create such wearable pieces of art that will be timeless and versatile. Every piece that is created is unique.
Every design is sketched first on a piece of paper. That is followed by colours being carefully picked. After that the scarf is painted (free hand) with no stencils or aids. Small imperfections are just a part of hand painting process and make the painting unique and unrepeatable. Each of the motives created has different technique (metallic outliner or watercolour technique etc) and different material (different types of silk fabrics) used. That is because suitability is carefully considered.

Jane Macintosh

category: Jewellery and Silverware

region: London

All my jewellery is individually made using traditional goldsmithing techniques. I work principally with silver and 18ct gold which I often combine to give subtle contrasts of tone and colour, sometimes oxidising the silver for a stronger contrast. I also seek out beautiful and unusual stones in their natural forms to create unique pieces of jewellery which are sculptural objects in themselves. Inspired by the Bauhaus movement and by the urban landscape in which I live and work, my minimalist designs are made with close attention to detail.
