halfpinthome

category: Textiles & Stitch - Interiors

region: Yorkshire

I specialise in fabric design for personalised cushions & other items. I graduated in 2005 with 1st class honours in Art & Design at York St John. Started a family, which is where my love of children’s products came from. Since my youngest went to school, I find myself now creating surface pattern design and applying it to fabric, in particularly children’s products such as personalised cushions, plush toys and bunting amongst other things. I also love any kind of illustration, but have a passion for quirky characters!

I work spontaneously, reacting to the inspiration provoked from folk art, dogs, hares, flowers and […]

Hollie Bailey Handwoven Textiles

category: Textiles & Stitch - Interiors   Textiles - Clothing

region: Midlands

Hollie Bailey is a dynamic hand weaver, producing beautifully crafted original pieces from her studio in Leicestershire.
Her fabric designs are a brilliant mix of traditionally executed construction using regular weave structures, combined with a more contemporary play on yarn properties, resulting in a unique range of woven textiles.
She is already an accredited designer whose fabrics are recognizable by their award winning unique style.
This trademark style is recognisable by its movement and individuality. The creation of these pieces is achieved by expertly manipulating the shrinking nature of woollen yarns, alongside stable yarns, creating soft textures and undulating surface qualities, resulting in wonderfully unusual one off fabrics.
Hollie indulges her unique and distinct style with sumptuous fibre choices of soft lambswool and lustrous silks, creating a well-balanced contrast of tactile textures and opulent designs. This, combined with her innate use of colour makes Hollie’s fabric desirable and divine.

Home Front Vintage

category: Fashion Accessories   Textiles & Stitch - Interiors

region: Yorkshire

Home Front Vintage specialises in rescuing genuine ‘escape and evasion’ silk maps that pilots and Special Forces hid inside their uniforms in case they needed to escape from enemy territory during WW2 and the Cold War. We remake the damaged pieces of map into fabulous gifts and accessories; perfect for people who value British history and provenance. We are often asked how we print the maps onto silk; We don’t! All our products are made from the genuine maps printed by the military during the 1940s and 1950s. We produce a wide range of items, from greetings cards with pin badge and piece of genuine map, to limited edition cushions, and can make bespoke items using parts of maps that mean something to the recipient. All our products come gift boxed in recycled packaging with information about the history and provenance of the maps included.
