Rosanna Clare

category: Fashion Accessories   Leather   Textiles & Stitch - Interiors

region: South East

After completing a Masters in Textile Design, with my love of upcycling and repurposing I have developed a range of jewellery and accessories made primarily from offcuts and recycled materials of wood and leather. My designs are mainly influenced by geometric shapes and patterns but many pieces are dictated by the nature of the shape, size or form of the materials available. Having nearly a decade of teaching experience behind me, I have built up an extensive range of skills and I am very lucky to now have the luxury of time and space to make my own products and to experiment with different techniques and styles.

Rosemary Rose Handmade Textiles

category: Textiles & Stitch - Interiors

region: Midlands

I design a range of textiles for the home that explore fragments of memories through images and words, that are multi layered inspired by wallpaper peeling away exposing layers of different patterns that could evoke a lost past. Each piece has a story to tell, tempting your imagination to assign a narrative. Designs are applied using a collage of techniques which include printing, appliqué, free machine and hand embroidery onto a bed of hand rolled felt where I trap open weave fabrics, particularly lace, so that they look delicate and eroded by time. Or onto boiled vintage woollen blankets which have a felted soft surface which is ideal for drawing onto with stitches and creating furnishings in contrasting fabrics. The techniques I use have been developed over the last 12 years since I graduated from Winchester School of Art with a BA in Fashion and Textile Design.

Ruth Packham

category: Textiles & Stitch - Interiors

region: Wales

My background is as a Fine Artist, graduating from what was Newcastle Polytechnic in 1992. Since 1994 I have been living in the wilds of West Wales where I have had 2 children. I have always loved fabric and when my daughter was tiny, 1995 I took a screen printing class at my local Arts Centre. I have been printing since then, inspired by the patterns of nature, creating bold colourful images. Five years ago I made my first piece of felt and am now in awe of wool and its potential. Three years ago I made my first needle felt creature and am addicted! Birds are a current theme.
I also machine applique and make one off sewn items.

Sam Pickard

category: Fashion Accessories   Printmaking   Textiles & Stitch - Interiors

region: South West

Because everything I do starts with drawing, I often arrive at my studio with armfuls of blossom, roses or leaves I’ve gathered from the garden or woodland and sit down and draw.

My lovely print studio is based in North Devon where I create bespoke interior textile products, fabrics, wall-coverings and accessories using traditional printmaking and craft skills, combined with experimental digital technology using the very best materials sourced in the U.K. wherever possible.

My designs have been commissioned to create trays and rugs and have twice been shortlisted for the British Design Awards.

Stitching for the Soul

category: Textiles & Stitch - Interiors

region: Yorkshire

My name is Beverley Holmes-Wright and I have been stitching and creating for over 20 years, but started up a part-time business a few years ago, after completing an honours degree in Creative Practice from Leeds Met University, for which I received First Class.

Why Stitching for the Soul? Stitching makes me happy and is an integral part of my life, it keeps me busy and enables me to meet people who are like-minded, making and buying well crafted hand-made items. I am partial to a bit of soul music too!

I produce carefully made, physical pieces which please the eye and brighten up the homes which take them in: using only the highest quality fabrics and threads, each piece is made using a variety of free machine embroidery, appliqué and delicate stitched patterns. But perhaps the largest part of my work involves planning aesthetic colour schemes and composition so that each creation is harmonious and balanced.
