My work as a printmaker is informed and influenced by my training and experience as a silversmith, often using the same tools to transfer the fine skills of etching and engraving precious metals to the printing block to create an image on paper. My work responds to the love of my surroundings, nature, intricate details […]

Print Garage is the dark and dusty underground lair of Iain Perry: self-styled, swashbuckling squeegee warrior. I create vibrant screen prints investigating the minutiae of my surroundings.  I draw inspiration from old technology, tools and toys, cinema, record sleeves and the world of science. Originally trained in painting I have since discovered that screen printing is […]

I graduated in 1997 with a degree in textiles and illustration. My work captures the essence of an image through the use of a delicate continuous line. I enjoy the feeling of spontaneity this gives me with my work. I hope this shines through in my designs. The line is offset against blocks of colour […]

I make small edition screenprints of colourful subjects that raise a smile. Animals and plants are a main theme, with a nod to mid-century design and a Scandinavian style. All of my prints are designed and printed by hand. I begin with a pen and ink drawing, which I make a stencil from for the […]

Because everything I do starts with drawing, I often arrive at my studio with armfuls of blossom, roses or leaves I’ve gathered from the garden or woodland and sit down and draw.

My lovely print studio is based in North Devon where I create bespoke interior textile products, fabrics, wall-coverings and accessories using traditional printmaking and craft skills, combined with experimental digital technology using the very best materials sourced in the U.K. wherever possible.

My designs have been commissioned to create trays and rugs and have twice been shortlisted for the British Design Awards.

I started out as an Artist / Illustrator but soon added printing to my practise….

Letterpress printing is a passion of mine, it is such a great medium – it encompasses so many different skill sets – from knowing about the myriad of papers, using ink, the setting of type by hand, design & fantastic old presses! My work ranges from one off prints to posters, cards & custom orders, such as invites.

I’m a self employed illustrator and printmaker, producing hand lettered and illustrated screen prints. I’ve spent most of my creative career as a graphic designer. In 2006 I embarked on a part time Graphic Design and Illustration degree, fitting my studies in around my full time job. I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2009 with a first class degree. In April 2012 I left my day job to fulfil my long held ambition of becoming a freelance illustrator and printmaker. I love to travel and draw much of my inspiration from folk art and vintage typography from around the world.
