Anita Nemkyova

category: Leather

region: Wales

Accessories label Anita Nemkyova was set up as a project to create beautifully crafted pieces. Every product is skilfully designed and made by hand in my workshop, ensuring high quality throughout the entire manufacturing process. With an emphasis on ethically and environmentally conscious production, I collaborate with sustainable British and Italian tanneries, using primarily vegetable-tanned leathers. This is an old artisan process where only natural extracts and dyes are used in order to be environmentally friendly. Leathers treated this way keep their natural look and unique character. With my passion for sustainability, materials such as cork or pinatex will be added to our seasonal collections, along with recycled materials such as canvas or recycled leather with the aim to reduce / reuse / recycle. My seasonal collections include accessories from bracelets to belts and body pieces, lifestyle products such as bags, backpacks, wallets and other leather goods.

Bask Bindery is noted for its fresh approach to the age-old profession, the bindery is set to shake up the industry with its handbound journals uniquely fused with striking collages designed to be covetable by the beholder and beyond. Truly individual, each piece is made by hand with high quality materials and include detail such as hot foil tooling, suede or leather onlays to add extra dimension to the collages.

All journals are Bradel Bindings. Bradel binding can be traced back to the 18th Century and the bookbinder has juxtaposed this traditional binding form with vivid modern collage designs to create standout handmade designs that retain functionality. For example, each journal can open fully. Each collage was digitally printed before covering the outer boards to create a truly distinctive handmade journal. Prices start at £95 for a Bask Bindery passport holder, ranging up to £120 for a handmade A4 journal. Bespoke commissions are welcomed.

Kay Morgan

category: Fashion Accessories   Leather   Textiles - Clothing

region: South West

I design and makes leather purses, bags and accessories. Based in Bristol I work from my studio and shop, BLAZE. My full range includes corsages, hair accessories, small coin purses, large purses, clutch bags and handbags.
Every piece created is cut and assembled by hand ensuring it’s uniqueness. I enjoy experimenting with floral shapes, which are all individually hand cut to create dense areas of interesting texture, maximising the sculptural qualities of the soft nappa leather. The purses are lined with quirky coordinating patterned linings. All fabrics are carefully sourced so combinations keep changing in order to keep items individual. All items are hand-crafted with every detail carefully considered ensuring each item is both functional, beautiful and tactile.
I enjoy creating beautiful containers such as purses and bags for people to carry around their treasured possessions, which are as beautiful on the inside as they are outside.

region: South West

I make sketchbooks, notebooks, journals, visitors books and albums, with handmade, watercolour and pattern papers, leather, vellum and linen. Each book is bound by hand in my studio in Somerset, using traditional bookbinding techniques and archival materials. I like simplicity of form and design combined with the tactile beauty of natural materials, and aim to make books that are calm and subtle, activated by areas of colour, pattern or texture. As well as making books for sale and to commission, I run workshops in traditional and contemporary book forms at arts centres and book festivals.
