“In July 2020 we held an open meeting to discuss how the Crafts Council and sector could tackle racism and inequality. The meeting showed there was real need for an on-going group and activity to recognise and celebrate Global majority makers and their work. The Global Majority Branch is an informal steering group that has evolved from that conversation.
We are now looking for a Relationship Manager (Global Majority) to take this work forward and build a network for creatives of Black and Asian heritage including but not limited to, people of African or Caribbean heritage; Arabic heritage; Latin American heritage; East Asian, South Asian and South East Asian heritage to collaborate, share information and support each other’s advocacy.
This is an exciting new post and you will be able to make the role your own. You will bring your own knowledge, expertise and lived experience to support both Crafts Council colleagues and the Global Majority stakeholders to create a network that has lasting impact and delivers real change.”
