Our participatory outdoor art project based in Menzieshill, Dundee, is seeking artists to deliver three exciting project strands covering film/photography, craft/yarn-bombing and murals/street-art.
The area of Menzieshill, Dundee, is filled with wonderful greenspaces, full of potential as venues for socially distanced arts and culture. Supported by the Creative Communities Fund, Bethany Christian Trust’s new Creative Expressions Department is seeking self-employed/freelance artists to deliver three project strands that encourage and celebrate the creativity of the neighbourhood using these outdoor spaces.
Photography/Film: artist(s) will encourage and support community members to produce their own work and develop an outdoor installation or exhibition to show it.
Craft/Yarn Bombing: working alongside local crafters to design and realise a textile intervention in an outdoor space.
Murals/Street Art: designing and delivering either a permanent or temporary new work which people can see as belonging to the area.
Each project should involve approximately 15 hours of direct community engagement, be that through workshops, consultation and/or collective creation. The fee for each strand will be £1500. There is a separate materials budget of £1000 to cover all strands. Mentoring support will be given throughout by established practitioners specialising in site-responsive work.
For further information and to apply, please email Sam Rowe or visit the website using the details below. The deadline for entries is 9am on Tuesday 16th February. We are keen to hear from practitioners from the Dundee/Fife/Tayside area.
