Real to Reel: The Craft Film Festival, produced by the Crafts Council and Crafts Magazine is the first UK festival dedicated to craft and moving image, giving a platform to the wealth of films that explore themes of making, makers, materials and process in the broadest sense. It will take place on the evenings of 2nd, 3rd and 4th May 2017 at Picturehouse Central, London.
Applications are open to submit a film and the team are interested in all genres: documentaries, story-led films and animation that capture skill in action, unveil hidden processes and invite us to look again at materials and those who shape them. Your film can be of any genre; it can be traditional or experimental, a few seconds or feature-length. Essentially they are interested in film-making that has a craft story to tell.
