A Celebration of Craft: Crafts Council Call for expressions of interest

The Crafts Council champions everyday making – supporting craft activity across all ages and abilities and celebrating communities who craft together.

“2021 is our 50th anniversary year. We want to use this moment of celebration to spread craft opportunities far and wide, so we’re inviting organisations and groups to partner with us to deliver craft workshops, events and talks for their communities during 2021. We want to know what kind of craft and making is important to your community and provide some funding to make this happen – either £500 for a public event or £2,500 for an in-depth project.

This programme aims to deliver new craft opportunities to new audiences. It will support organisations with existing programmes of craft activity to reach out to people they haven’t worked with before; it will also support organisations who don’t specialise in craft (youth groups, residents’ associations, libraries etc.) to offer a new craft experience for their audiences and communities.

We’d like to hear from you whether you have a fully-formed idea for a project, or need some support to develop your ideas. The Crafts Council is happy to use our networks and expertise to help you shape a really exciting craft opportunity for your community.”
