This exhibition demonstrates the value and importance of innovative handmade craft and is part of our programme that introduces the most exciting new makers to collectors. The work is selected from the prestigious Crafts Council’s Hothouse programme that offers a vital stepping stone for craft artists wishing to break into the sector. As a result, these makers will soon be snapped up by prestigious retail outlets and manufacturers and soon to be occupying the shelves of the likes of Liberty London or Harrods. This is an opportunity to invest in the future of British crafts when they are still fresh and affordable.
The New Ashgate Gallery is a Hothouse partner: Hothouse 6 is the Crafts Council initiative where selected makers take part in the six-month programme which is delivered in partnership across four regions in the UK.
