Oriel Myrddin Gallery

Oriel Myrddin Gallery is Carmarthenshire’s centre for contemporary visual art, craft and design. They are the main publicly funded art and craft gallery for the South-West Wales region and are located in a listed Victorian building in the centre of Carmarthen.

As well as exhibiting contemporary craft makers, the gallery also has a commitment to education outreach work.

It’s open Monday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm.

Own-it

Own-it offers intellectual property (IP) advice, information and learning resources for the creative sector. Funded by the University of the Arts London (UAL), they offer a range of services, from basic to specialist support, through an online enquiries system, online and face-to face seminars and workshops  and, where appropriate, surgeries with IP lawyers.

Oxfordshire Craft Guild

The Oxfordshire Craft Guild is a membership organization of makers working in a wide range of crafts, each with their individual style. Members are admitted on the basis of the quality of their work which is vetted by their peers at interview.

The OCG is a non-profit organisation managed by its Board of elected members from the different crafts. They host a six-week Christmas Exhibition at the Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock, set up and run by members, and several smaller exhibitions throughout the year, and the Guild supports the artistic development of its members in various ways.

R & A Collaborations

RBSA Gallery

The RBSA Gallery’s Craft Gallery has established a reputation as one of the leading outlets in the Midlands for contemporary craft, striving to demonstrate the diversity and creativity of the UK’s craft-making community. Ruthin Craft Centre

The Biscuit Factory

The Byre Gallery

The Byre Gallery on the Rame peninsula in south-east Cornwall exhibits stunning works of design-led craft and contemporary fine art by leading and emerging makers and artists from throughout the UK. It is a must-visit destination for all lovers of fine art as well as contemporary craft in ceramics, glass, jewellery, metals and textiles.

An exhibition at the Byre is thoughtfully curated in a style that suggests an inviting and elegant domestic setting rather than a more traditional gallery format.  Paintings and contemporary craft pieces are carefully selected and curated to create a considered and cohesive whole.

The Byre is open three times a year with exhibitions held in spring, summer and at Christmas, and always online.

The Crafts Council

The Crafts Council’s goal is to make the UK the best place to make, see, collect and learn about contemporary craft. In 1971 the Crafts Advisory Committee (CAC) was formed to advise the government ‘on the needs of the artist craftsman and to promote a nation-wide interest and improvement in their products’. In April 1979 the CAC was renamed the Crafts Council. It established independence from the Design Council and was granted a Royal Charter in 1982 ‘to advance and encourage the creation and conservation of works of fine craftsmanship and to foster, promote and increase the interest of the public in the works of fine craftsmen and the accessibility of those works to the public in England and Wales’.

The Harley Gallery

The Hub, Sleaford
