Annette Petch Jewellery

category: Jewellery and Silverware

region: North East

I make intricate, delicate jewellery in silver and gold from necklaces and bracelets to earrings, cufflinks and rings. I also make tiny silver books with messages inside, little boxes to hide your secrets in, and small decorative bowls.

I create textures and forms in the metal using a technique called chasing. I am fascinated by the way the lines I chase onto one side of the metal can be altered and transformed by working from the back to form emerging three dimensional shapes.

I am influenced by the structure and texture of natural forms, such as shells, seed pods, leaves and rippled sand, and I like my jewellery to incorporate sound and movement.

Annie Coombs

category: Jewellery and Silverware

region: Wales

I fabricate my Sterling Silver jewellery using traditional metalworking techniques such as piercing, forming, forging and soldering. I often add milled or acid etched texture or contrasting metal and use patination to highlight detail.
Some pieces may feature a cast element, these elements I cast myself from my hand carved master.
I draw inspiration from poems, stories and journeys through the imagination which can lead to quirky figurative pieces which I produce in limited designs. I sometimes use a text alongside a piece to provide humour or explanation about the design.

Annie Lamb makes beautiful bespoke hair accessories, hats and fascinators perfect for a bride, her bridesmaids and guests. Every one of her pieces is completely hand made on a silk covered base and silk bound comb, with every feather sewn in place for strength and security. They can be fixed on a hair band or with hat elastic, whichever is more comfortable for you. Each long feather/quill is different from the next, thus creating a degree of exclusivity in each piece.

Antonia Chiappe

category: Jewellery and Silverware

region: Scotland

I am a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and am currently based at home in Fife.

Inspired by the beauty of the contrast between solid objects and fragile elements, I create intriguing items of jewellery. Influenced by familiar shapes, lines and patterns, my work draws from the everyday sources of textiles, architecture, antiques and curios. By translating feelings such as fragility, through the manipulation of materials, I can begin to explore an intangible relationship; engaging the viewer with the jewellery.

Working in precious metals, and incorporating non-precious materials such as paper and porcelain. My collections contain designs of solid forms which are complementary to the body, whilst capturing a sense of playful ornate detailing.

I am a ceramic artist inspired by the scenery of the beautiful coastline of Devon and Cornwall. Working from my studio in the grounds of Cockington Court near Torquay in Devon, I design and make a range of quirky sculptures of harbours, boats, fish and much more. Hand built using earthenware clay no two are exactly the same, so you can be sure of owning a truly unique piece of art. Each harbour takes several hours to make, paint and fire they are then finished with wooden masts, wire rigging and tiny colourful flags. Driftwood is also used as a base for some of the little boats, sailing on a sea of ceramic shells a colourful hand painted sail and tiny fish hanging on twine as if they have just been caught. I am always happy to take commissions or to personalise a special piece for you.

I work in several media, primarily porcelain, but I also paint with acrylic on canvas. I have been experimenting and developing skills since I was 15, selling my work at exhibitions, craft fairs and privately through contacts. I taught Art & Design for 23 years.

I have a passion for butterflies and flowers, particularly butterflies, although I do many different works for commissions. I pride myself in producing handmade, original, quality detailed work. The pieces I make come from the heart, inspired from what I see around me and my garden. In addition to making, I use my new studio to teach small private tuition groups & workshops in a wide range of disciplines.
