‘Drawing inspiration from themes of collecting memories I create playful jewellery which might explore a fleeting moment, a chance encounter or a material souvenir charged with meaning. Referencing shape, form, colour and pattern to realise each piece of jewellery I hope to create something which has both familiar and yet foreign associations, perhaps triggering a […]

I cast pieces that reference 18th and 19th Century British and European tableware. They are earthenware with coloured glazes, oxide transfers and hand painted with gold lustre. My work looks back to traditional tableware design but my line drawings bring a contemporary feel to each piece. My jugs and vases are made from moulds originally […]

Lisa Taylor Jewellery

category: Jewellery and Silverware

region: Wales

I studied B.A Hon’s Applied Art at Glyndwr University in North Wales, specialising in jewellery design. I use different materials within my work, mainly textiles and silver, but also resin. Colour is my main inspiration and I like to find alternative ways of using colour in my work. For my final degree show collection I used the technique of tatting hand dyed silk yarn. I then used the tatting in a unique way to create a range of textile and silver necklaces. I took colour inspiration for the collection from Victorian botanical water colour illustrations, and I have continued to expand the colour range of this collection. The silk is hand dyed giving each piece a unique quality. Prices range from £20 up to £249 for a one off piece.

Little Mill House

category: Mixed Media and Recycled   Textiles & Stitch - Interiors

region: Yorkshire

I upcycle vintage materials such as tea towels, scarves and glasses into beautiful cushions and gifts. The idea for Little Mill House came from my obsession with hunting vintage items and needing a creative way to free them from storage. It then became an excuse to continue hunting lovely items and share them with other people. I was taught by my auntie to sew as I was growing up and have had professional tuition by a private tutor to perfect my techniques. Everything is made at home by myself and quality is a priority.
